Teen Power

Teen Power is an energy education program offered to middle-school-aged children. Developed in part by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), it is an innovative program, using music, cartoons and interactive web pages to teach students about energy awareness through real-life exercises.
Although the Teen Power program is Internet active, schools and/or classrooms without Internet access receive Teen Power training via CD-ROM. In addition, workbooks are available instead of on-line instruction.
Teen Power is a science-based program, however, it is not science-specific. the program activities span a variety of junior high curriculums.
Teen Power's six modules include: energy, HVAC, building envelope, lighting, water and office equipment.
The modules are developed to teach students about wise energy use. Students have the opportunity to become empowered "energy-use investigators."
