1. Clarke-Washington EMC Canned Food Drive

   November 18, 2011

   

   Clarke-Washington EMC offices will serve as Collection Stations for a local Canned Food Drive. In partnership with the Clarke County Dept. of Human Resources and the Washington County Baptist Association, CWEMC will collect canned foods during normal working hours, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, until December 13th. Please stop by our Chatom or Jackson office and donate a canned food to help feed the hungry of Southwest Alabama.

2. CWEMC Annual Meeting & 75th Anniversary Celebration

   Each year Clarke-Washington EMC hosts its Annual Meeting and Membership Appreciation Day to show their thanks for the support from throughout the communities served. 

    

   This year the 75^th Annual Meeting will be held in Chatom at the Jordan-Wilcox Stadium, Tuesday, Sept. 13^th.  Registration begins at 5 p.m. and at 7 p.m. the official meeting will come to order. Each registered member will receive $10 off their electric bill. 

    

   CWEMC will offer a free 75-Watt CFL light bulb to the first 500 members who register along with many other prizes and giveaways to each registered member.  Members will receive a registration card in the mail from CWEMC.  This card has each members account number and will help the registration process go much quicker.

    

   This year members will vote on a bylaw amendment. This amendment will allow payments of capital credits for current years and is recommended by many cooperative organizations.

    

   The Grand prize Giveaway will be a 2004 Chevy Silverado Truck.  Numerous other prizes will be awarded throughout the event as in other years past.

    

   Hotdogs, chips, and cold cokes will be available for all those who attend.  There will be entertainment as well as the Washington County High School Band will perform. 

    

   Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to see friends and neighbors and learn more about how your cooperative serves your community.

    

   In the event of rain or severe weather, the meeting will be held in the Washington County High School Gymnasium.
