Clarke-Washington EMC's response to COVID-19
We are excited this month to announce a new payment option that gives you approximately 30 convenient locations in or near the Clarke-Washington EMC service area to pay your electric bill. The new service is called CheckOut and allows you to make payments on your electric bill at Dollar General, Family Dollar and CVS stores. It’s not only convenient, it’s simple and easy. All you have to do is go to www.cwemc.com and click on GET YOUR CHECKOUT BARCODE. Then, enter your account number without a dash and verify your service address to obtain a bar code unique to your electric account with CWEMC. You can download the bar code to your phone or print a paper copy. Or, you can call or stop by the office and we will be happy to help you obtain your barcode.
Once you have the barcode, you simply go into one of the stores and tell the cashier how much you would like to pay on your account. The cashier will scan the bar code and accept your cash payment. The store adds a $1.50 convenience fee and the payment is immediately posted to your account. The cashier does not have access to check the amount of your bill so you need to have a copy of your bill or check ahead of time to find out how much you need to pay on your bill.
